Not 'Goodbye' . . . Just 'See You Soon'

Some of you may have noticed, but I have been a bad bloggy friend the past little bit. I haven't replied to comments like usual (for those who have their e-mail address available in their user settings), and I haven't visited others blogs.

And I know, I know, it happens to the best of us, but I really do feel terrible about it, because I love all you people who visit and comment on my blog. I can't tell you how happy a little comment makes me. Ridiculously happy. :)

But alas, despite the less sleep I've been trying to get by on, I'm just not getting everything done. Because some things simply must come first. *cough* kids *cough*

So where I am going with this? I'm going to take a blogging break for the month of April. Hopefully in that time I can catch up on replies and visiting some of your blogs, too, but I must do a few other things first:
  1. Spend every possible second enjoying my parents when they come out to visit.
  2. Continue potty training little miss dirt monkey (no accidents yesterday!).
  3. Finish the big translation job hanging over me.
  4. Write 1000 words of my wip [work in progress] every day (or you just might see a post in April after all). For an explanation, check out this post by the fabulous Leigh Moore.
  5. Spend time with my hubs every spare second he has.
  6. Exercise. Time to find a new race to work towards . . . preferably a shorter one.
  7. Relax. Excuse me while I go look up the definition of this word . . .
  8. Begin the clearing out process for our move in June. My but junk builds up fast.
Well, I could go on . . . I didn't even mention spending QT with kids, because I hope that's a given . . . though it hasn't been lately. *sigh*

So have a great April everyone! I will miss you, but look forward to hearing all your wonderful news come May. :)

This picture just makes me happy, so I'm sharing it again.

Best of luck to you, Janet. Enjoy your break, RELAX (yes it really IS a word AND a concept :D) and we'll be here for you when you return!

All the best,
Jen

That's wonderful pic to have!! Enjoy your break!! See you soon!! I keep saying this to myself - blogging is for fun - but it's seriously in all honesty, not essential. Well it's not. Family, friends and your dreams are! Take care

Ah, relaxing is overrated ;) I hope you find time to treat yourself Janet. I'll be here when you return and I may participate in the April madness of 1,000 words a day.

Enjoy your break, Janet! Blogging, writing, etc in addition to working and parenting is grueling - we all get it! and we all need a break sometimes! I hope you get everything done that you want to, and I'll look forward to your return. (P.S. I hope you'll keep up practicing your mad hacker sack skills :))

Hi Janet .. if you're really moving in June - I think I'd give up on May too ... gosh so much going on. Definitely spend time with parents, kids and hubby .. probably in the other order!!

Cheers - look after yourself too .. with thoughts - the A-Z sounds easy! Hilary

Have a great family-filled and productive April, Janet. I think most of us who decided against the A-Z fest will be blogging a whole lot less.

Well, I have a confession to make. Not only have I not read Hunger Games yet, I haven't seen it and I don't know if we'll see it in the theater! GASP! I know. But that's not the sole confession. I'll have another one coming up on the blog next Monday - one very similar to this, I'm afraid. Sigh. But I SO get why. Really.

That's one of the best photos ever! Go and spend lots of QT with those cuties - and don't regret a single second of it!

No worries here Janet. I hope you enjoy the time spent elsewhere.

Hi Janet. Sounds like not only April, but also May and June will be busy months for you. Your blog posts will be missed, but you won't be forgotten. Enjoy the time with your husband, kids, and parents.

I'd like to say I'll commit to the 30K in 30 days, but with doing the A to Z Challenge I might not be able to do both successfully. Perhaps a challenge like that sometime during the summer months?

Have a wonderful break. My break did the world of good for me. I am now rolling on my mg novel. :) See you when you get back.

Oh goodness, don't apologize. Did you notice how long it took me to get over to read this post? I have been floundering here lately, too. I think a great time to "take a break" is April because everyone is wrapped up in the A-Z challenge and they won't miss us so much. :)

Have a great time away!

Sometimes it's so hard to keep up with it all. Even during the break it sounds like you have a lot to do. Good luck with that and the WIP.

So this is why I haven't seen any of your posts in a while. You made this announcement when I was away on spring break.

Hope you're having a great "rest", Janet. :)

Kids before blogging? Okay, fine, I guess. See you in a bit!

Haha! I feel exactly the same way! (As evidenced by the fact that it's May 1st (in Japan anyway) and here I am, finding out about your blogging break in April. We just can't do everything though and I think your priorities are in exactly the right place.)

...just don't disappear forever, okay? :-)
