Still, it seems to be working, so I've started imagining Ms. Michael's as my personal trainer to help me reach my writing goals. Here's what I'm hearing:
- "Come on people! If you want to write for only 20 minutes a day, then you've got to WORK! It can replace hours at the computer, but you can't stop. You have to TYPE! You can't stop typing!"
- "I know it's hard. It's hard for me. But when you're done and you see the results . . . it's worth it people!"
- "Okay, this is our last speed-writing circuit. When it's through, I want to see your hand CRAMPING!"
- "When it hurts the most, that's when you're accomplishing the most! Keep writing! Come on, just give me five more words . . ."
- "You're probably thinking I'm a crazy person, it wouldn't be the first time I've been called that, but I get results! And when you see what you can write, and you see what you can accomplish, it will influence every other part of your life!"
I'm inspired, people! I hope you are too. :)

I think Jillian would also add something about getting rid of distractions, e.g., "Shut down that browser. Come on, you can do it. Twitter and Facebook will not go away ane you need to focus!" At least that's what she'd say to me. :)
You know, Janet, I think you ought to lead a conference, or a writing course! Your motivation here makes me WANT to cramp my hand from writing!

Love it! I'll have to check out that 30 day shred. Sounds very motivating. And I agree with Joannne. You could make a motivation video for us of you, just sayin.

Janet, this is a classic! I don't have the workout video, but we do watch the tv show "The Biggest Loser" every week where she drives people to tears and more all the time, and you have so nailed her! I had to laugh when I read this. It's Jillian's voice to a T.

:) Motivation comes from the strangest places, doesn't it? But I like the relationship between working out and writing - writing can also feel like a physically exhausting exercise, can't it?
