This vs. That: Oranges vs. Apples

They may say you can't compare Apples and Oranges, but we, here on this blog, have proven them wrong. (I have no idea who "they" and "them" are, but whoever you are, you're wrong!) Apples and Oranges can, indeed, be compared. And here's our results:

Total votes: 22

Apples: 7 votes; 31%
Oranges: 10 votes; 45%
Neither: 1 vote; 5%
Refuse to take sides: 1 vote; 5%
Depends: 2 votes; 9%
Chocolate: 1 vote; 5%

Ah, but you guys bring me joy with your reasoning. Though I now fear that all my future polls will get at least one vote for chocolate . . . you know who you are! And I can hear a mini avalanche of apples and oranges dropping to the ground while the rest of you change your vote.

So enough asides. My vote went to Oranges. Why? Because as messy as the are, the thought of a sweet juicy orange bursting in my mouth just makes me happy.

Now on to the next debate:

Stay Up Late

vs.

Get Up Early

The apples vs orange one was tough for me. I'm not really a big fan of either.

I get up everyday at 5 am to either blog, write, or read. I'm definitely an early morning person. The only exception was Christmas. I slept in until 6 am. Oh, and when we go on vacation, I now sleep in a little longer.

Can't lie. I'm really upset about the apple/orange situation. But we march on...
This is so complicated for me because I am a night person trying to become a morning person. But it hasn't happened yet. So my vote is: Stay up late.

Ha! This is great.

I'm all for staying up late! I HATE getting up...at all, much less early! Yuck. Damn I love sleeping...

Apples vs. oranges was a tough one - even without adding chocolate to the mix :) But this one is easy. I'm a hands down get up early girl - always have been! By 7 PM I'm yawning :)

I'm a morning person. I wish I could stay up late and get up early, but I can't. If I could stay up late, I would have better night life.... well, I might have a night life. However, in the morning I get peace and quiet and fast internet speeds.

I didn't know chocolate was an option. I know, you're saying chocolate is always an option. Did I vote for oranges? No? That's because I prefer apples. But only the Fuji kind.

And stay up late. It's been hard getting out of bed lately... Although now that I'm a grandma, I find myself doing both on the weekends. *snort*

Chocolate? I would have totally voted for that one.

I do both, stay up late, and get up early. I think that's why I'm so tired by noon. ;)

I'm more likely to eat vegetables, but when it comes to fruit I love my oranges.

I'd rather get up early. I like to write before dawn, come to work early to prepare myself for the day, and get to stores before a crowd forms.

I'd love to get up early, but I'm afraid it's STAY UP LATE.

Actually, I do get up pretty early, but that's because I have to. I stay up late by choice. :)

Stay Up Late!

And: Woo Hoo! Way to go oranges!

I love these! It's been far too long since I've visited but I'm starting to get back into the blogging world. I'd hate to be forgotten!

I'm a get up early kind of girl! Always have been and that doesn't seem to be changing any time soon!

PS - Last round I would have chosen Oranges!!!!

I'm a bit surprised that apples got beat out by oranges. Guess that tells everyone how I voted. Apples!

I have to go with get up early. Gives me a good excuse for having something with caffeine, like an iced coffee in the summer or a hot chocolate or cappuchino in the winter.

Morning or night? Both. You can have the best of both worlds, as long as you don't also need sleep.

I can't help but wake up early and have always been a morning person by nature, but I love to stay up and do so most weekends when I can.

Why do I torture myself so?

I'd have voted for oranges, too! And for the current vote, I'm going to have to go with neither at present. I'd love to be able to get up early AND be productive, but with kids to get ready and out to school, it's just not going to happen. And when they're home at the end of the day, it's supper and homework, after which I'm as bagged as they are :(

I do indeed know who I am!!! GRIN. But to be honest, didn't I actually vote for oranges? (albeit chocoloate covered oranges)

I am voting this time for staying up late. Because if you get into a writing streak, you can stay up the whole night if you really want!!! But if you get up early, even at 4:00 am, you still only have 3 hours or so before duty calls....

Go Oranges! My favorite fruit!

I love both! I'm a fruit person. Some say I am a fruit. *wink*

I'm a day person. I write better in the morning. Night time is for catching some Zzzzzz's. :-)

Nope, I'm a morning person, though my husband frequently manages to keep me up until 11pm even so. I routinely get by on six hours a night during the week, then crash on Sunday afternoon. And for the record: Apples, preferably with accompanying caramel sauce and chocolate is always on top of the list. LOL
