The Perfect Balance

Over a month has passed since my post about playing a trick on one of my readers. If you missed it, click >>here<<. Some of you wanted to know what the trick was, but rats and phooey, I didn't take a picture. However, I am a writer, right?

So for my trick on Old Kitty, I sent a Halloween toy kitty that poops out jellybeans when you pull the tail. :) Maybe if we all beg, Old Kitty will post a picture for us. I still giggle when I think about it. The perfect trick, I tell you! And why? Because I'm not even a huge jellybean fan! ;)

Another perfect trick is balancing your writing life with everything else. Particularly during the holidays.

So here's my question to you . . . what is your trick for balancing it all? Do you forget about writing for the month? Stay up late? Ask for more time from Santa Claus (or any gift-bearing persona in your belief system)? How do you do it?

Balancing it all? Sometimes some things have to drop so I can fit it all in. It's hard to chose what not to do, because I want to do it all. I'm totally asking Santa for more time this year. ;)

O.M.G.!!!!

I want a kitty that poops jelly beans! And am I reading this child's list correctly? Is #1 "time"??? That's kind of sad, CUF. :o\

Ah... if only I had a formula for balance maybe I'd get more work done :) Let me know if you figure it out!

Balancing writing with the rest of life? I'm having a hard time doing it. If you figure out how to do it, let us in on the secret, okay?

How do I balance it? Triage. The urgent stuff gets done first. Of course, that means a lot of stuff never gets done, which is kind of a problem. I'm luck this month, though. I just turned in my revisions to my agent, and she said it will be a few weeks before she has revisions (if any) back to me, so I'm off the hook for a bit.

Balance? Balance? *nervous laughter* Yeah, I'm still learning what's best. I haven't figured it out. I basically multi-task the best I cn.

If Santa could give me more time, that'd be great.

I'm definitely getting less done these days because of the holidays. It happens!

I wish I had a trick for getting everything done during the holidays. I don't. So I just stress out, stay up too late, and keep repeating Christmas song lyrics over and over in my head.

P.S. I think a kitty pooping jelly beans is an awesome gift.

Fortunately I've finished editing my wip and am now querying it. I'm working on a new project but it's very slow going. That's okay. I'm not planning to start the first draft until the kids go back to school.

Oh boy, Janet. I don't know if it's the Christmas cheer or the letdown after Nano or what, but I have had a horrible time working on my WiP this month! I'm still attempting to edit a little bit every day, even when I don't feel like it. We don't go crazy at Christmas, so that helps. I prefer a quieter, more reflective season. :)

Asking Santa Claus for more time? Now THAT'S brilliant! Otherwise...balance? What's balance?
